Report From Parliament Hill
Eric Melillo, MP, Kenora Riding
Dear Constituents
I had two wonderful evenings back home in Kenora and Dryden at the Kinsmen Santa Claus Parades. Thank you to the Kinsmen and all the volunteers that make these parades possible every year.
After nine years, even Jagmeet Singh is saying the Trudeau government is “greedy” and “anti-worker” in response to Trudeau’s referrals to the Canadian Industrial Relations Board, violating workers’ right to strike.
He said he “ripped up” his coalition agreement with the Liberal government. He also said “the Liberals are too weak, too selfish, and too beholden to corporate interests to fight for people” and “the Liberal Government will always cave to corporate greed, and always step in to make sure the unions have no power.” On this, Conservatives agree with the NDP leader.
This week, Conservatives moved a motion of non-confidence made up entirely of Jagmeet Singh’s own words, but the NDP announced they will vote against their leader’s words and against this motion. In doing so, the NDP will once again deny Canadians a chance to vote in a carbon tax election, showing they are all talk while continuing to prop up this Liberal government.
Common Sense Conservatives will keep fighting for a carbon tax election so Canadians can choose between the costly coalition or our common sense plan to axe the tax, build the homes, fix the budget and stop the crime.
