Barbara “Bobbie” Clark

December 28, 1934  -  December 9, 2023

Barbara “Bobbie” Clark (nee Swailes) passed away peacefully the morning of Saturday, December 9, 2023 with family by her side. 

Bobbie was born in New Glasgow, Nova Scotia on December 28, 1934 to “Smokey” and Helen Swailes.

She joined the Royal Canadian Air Force upon turning 18 and met her best friend and the love of her life, Glenn “Knobby” Clark when they were both stationed at the radar installation at Foyemont, Ontario. 

Bobbie and Knobby shared 64 wonderful years together as husband and wife. They had two daughters, Donna (Dale) and Kim (Dick) and two granddaughters, Terri and Dana.

 Everyone worked in the family fly-in fishing business at certain times in their lives. Bobbie and Knobby first moved with the Air Force to Sioux Lookout in 1961 and fell in love with the town. They requested that their final posting be Sioux Lookout and they returned and never looked back. 

Bobbie was an avid walker and could be seen each morning during the summer walking to town. She enjoyed gardening and taking care of the yard and was often seen driving around on her lawn mower. Her main enjoyment was the time spent with her family and her beloved pets. 

Bobbie was predeceased by her loving husband Knobby, granddaughter Dana, and her parents “Smokey” and Helen.

 A private service will be held at the family’s request.

The family wishes to send a special thank you to the staff at Meno Ya Win who were involved in her care for their incredible health care and friendship that they extended to our mom on her final journey.
