Death investigation in Sioux Lookout

An investigation is underway into the death of 32-year-old Sioux Lookout woman.
Sioux Lookout OPP shared in a Jan. 12 media release that on the morning of January 9, members of the Sioux Lookout detachment and North West Emergency Medical Services (EMS) responded to a 911 call from a location on First Avenue North in Sioux Lookout and located a deceased female. 
The OPP North West Region Crime Unit is investigating the death of the deceased woman, identified as Dawna Masakeyash, under the direction of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch (CIB), in conjunction with the Office of the Chief Coroner and Ontario Forensic Pathology Service
Police do not believe there is any risk to public safety at this time, but advised there will be an increased presence of police in the area.
Ontario Provincial Police are reminding members of the public to be aware of their surroundings at all times and to report suspicious activity.
