Bombers fight back from heartbreaking loss to force Game 7 in playoff series against Miners

UPDATE: The Miners defeated the Bombers 3-2 in overtime in Game 7 on April 1 in Sioux Lookout to win the best of seven playoff series
The Sioux Lookout Bombers forced Game 7 in their Superior International Junior Hockey League (SIJHL) playoffs series against the Red Lake Miners with a 4-1 Game 6 victory on March 30.
Jonah Smith got the Bombers on the scoreboard first with a goal at 14:50 in the first period at the Cochenour Arena in Red Lake.
Nathan Dann replied back for the Miners at 17:17 to tie the game 1-1.
After a scoreless second period Alex Lucas broke the deadlock at 10:03 to put the Bombers ahead 2-1.
Ty Lone and Sage Roberts added to the Bombers tally for a 4-1 Game 6 win to force a Game 7, winner take all match.
The Bombers fell to the Miners in a 4-3 overtime heartbreaker loss in Game 5 of the series on March 28 at the Hangar (Sioux Lookout Memorial Arena). Matthew MacPherson scored the game winning goal for Red Lake.
Game 7 of the series took place on
April 1 at the Hangar with the winner moving on to Round 2 of the SIJHL playoffs.
