More than 350 people were at The Hangar (Sioux Lookout Memorial Arena) on Sept. 13 to watch the Sioux Lookout Bombers take on the expansion Kenora Islanders Jr. A Hockey Club.
The Bombers dominated the match, leading 5-0 after the first period of play, adding two more unanswered goals in the second period. The Bombers went on to defeat the Islanders 8-1.
Bombers General Manager Austen Hoey shared, “It was nice to get some preseason games in. Bringing back a good amount of our roster. It was just important to us to see the newer guys we had brought in and check on the progress of some of the veterans we expect a lot from this season. Everyone we put in the line-up last night, we were very happy with.”
Hoey said of the attendance for the preseason match, “It just speaks to the fans and the community support here in Sioux Lookout.”
The Bombers were on the road Sept. 15 and 16 for two more preseason games against the Red Lake Miners.
