Traffic stop initiated by Lac Seul Police Service results in drug trafficking charges against two individuals

Two Lac Seul First Nation residents are facing drug trafficking charges following a traffic stop on Lac Seul Road on Oct. 22.
“Lac Seul Police Service deployed K-9 “Kona” and upon search of the suspect vehicle, Police located and seized approximately 48 grams of suspected cocaine with an approximate street value of $4800, Canadian currency and paraphernalia indicative of drug trafficking,” Lac Seul Police Service shared in an Oct. 22 media release.
A 33-year-old and a 23-year-old from Lac Seul First Nation have been criminally charged with Possession of a Schedule I Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking – Cocaine.
Police shared that both accused individuals were held for a bail hearing and since have been released on a Release Order, scheduled to appear in Lac Seul Court on November 27 to answer the charge.
