The Sioux Lookout Area Aboriginal Management Board’s (SLAAMB) annual Start of Christmas Season Bake and Crafts Sale on November 20 offered a joyous, Christmas bazaar for local vendors to sell their goods.
SLAAMB Assistant Coordinator Ziggy Beardy said, “People come out and support this event every year and it brings out interaction among people, gets them out of their house once in a while.”
SLAAMB ensured the recommended COVID-19 safety protocols were in place, with a capacity of 10 visitors at any given time. Beardy said, “We had 10 registered vendors, that’s a good number considering the pandemic and the distancing issues.” With a variety of items on display, the bake and crafts sale plans to return sometime during the second week of December to allow more participation.
Beardy said, “I know people are cautious and COVID affects everything and everyone and so we just look forward to having a bigger event next year, once this all passes. So, we all need to be safe and cautious during this Christmas season.”
