Slate Falls Air Balloon Drop
Community members and visitors to town flocked to Second Sandy Beach on the afternoon of August 6 for the Slate Falls Air Balloon Drop.
One-hundred prize balloons were dropped from a Slate Falls Air floatplane along the shoreline for excited to children to claim.
Slate Falls Air Owner Matt Cairns thanked visitors for attending as well as Drayton Cash and Carry and Fresh Market Foods for donating prizes of ice cream, slushies or candy bags. Cairns also thanked Volt Entertainment for providing entertainment during the event.
“I think it went very well,” Cairns added. “The winds were a bit of a challenge, but once we got that dialed in, we were able to put the balloons right into the mix of all the kids.”
