Report From Parliament Hill
Eric Melillo, MP, Kenora Riding
Dear Constituents
Winnipeg Jets alumni were recently in Kenora for a number of community events. They took the ice with teams from Wauzhushk Onigum and faced off against Kenora’s high school alumni in support of Triple P.L.A.Y. A big thank you to all the organizers, volunteers, and sponsors who made the weekend a great success.
I hope everyone had a chance to relax and connect with family over the Thanksgiving weekend. Unfortunately, what should be a time of joy, family and celebration has become a stark reminder of the economic pain the government has caused for many. After nine years of this NDP-Liberal government, Canadians are struggling to afford essentials.
That includes food. In fact, two million Canadians are visiting a food bank in a single month. The food banks across northwestern Ontario are running out of supplies because demand is so high, and Canadians are paying $700 more for groceries this year than they did in 2023.
We know that the NDPLiberal coalition will quadruple the carbon tax to 61 cents per litre if they are given the opportunity.
Only Common Sense Conservatives have a plan to axe the carbon tax, bring down the cost of food and ensure that all Canadians across this country can afford to feed, heat and house themselves once again.

Now, this is more like it. When we arrived at camp yesterday afternoon, less than an hour after cruising into our driveway at home, the chickadees met our boat at the dock...
