Report From Parliament Hill
Eric Melillo, MP, Kenora Riding
Dear Constituents
I was honoured to attend the celebration for Kenora’s Abby Dent—Olympic silver medalist at Paris 2024. Congratulations Abby!
It was a pleasure to be part of the Wabigoon Lake Ojibway Nation’s grand entry at their annual powwow. There was a great turnout from folks around the region.
Back to School
As summer break wraps up and students in our region return to the classroom, I hope the new year brings them opportunities to make memories and explore newly found interests. I also wish them good luck in their studies.
Unfortunately, back to school can also come as a stressful time for parents. Many will struggle to pay for school supplies as costs for these essentials have increased.
After 9 years of this NDP-Liberal government, their tax-and-spend policies have caused the cost of these goods to skyrocket.
This has left some parents canceling their kids’ extracurriculars to make ends meet. Others are turning to food banks and charities to make sure their children have the back-to-school essentials they need.
Common Sense Conservatives are fighting to bring home lower prices for Canadians. A Conservative government will axe the carbon tax, stop NDP-Liberal tax increases, and cap government spending so parents can afford to buy food and give their kids the tools they need to grow.
It’s just commons sense—so, let’s bring it home.

Twilight is exquisite!
On a weekend afternoon I danced for a few hours with the fresh developing moon, thin, bright, crisp and delicate, rising at mid-morning in the sky over Pelican Lake and setting in the western forest soon after sundown....
