Recreation Centre opens Shooting Hoops

The Sioux Lookout Recreation Centre is now welcoming interested community members, 10 years and older, to book time slots for its Shooting Hoops initiative.
Bookings can be made for one hour per day, up to three days in advance.
Shooting Hoops will be limited to single person use, with the only exception being two participants who reside in the same household.
Front Desk Staff will designate one basket to be used. Participants are encouraged to bring their own ball. Everyone is expected to wear a facemask in all instances, except while on the court. Hand sanitizer will also be provided for use before and after activity.
Booking on the hour, each time slot will be an hour long. Participants will be required to vacate the court after 55 minutes to allow for cleaning and physical distancing for upcoming bookings. Regular programmed events will take precedent of shooting hoops.
Users are requested to notify Front Desk Staff, as soon as possible, in case they are unable to occupy the time slot booked, to enable other participants to use it instead. The Municipality of Sioux Lookout shared that currently there is no penalization in place for no-show appointments. However, if this becomes a persistent issue, one’s ability to book in advance may be restricted.
Users may book a time in the gym and a time in the fitness facility in the same day. Bookings can be made in-person or by calling 737-1994.
