Paramedic Services Week – Pandemic: KDSB Northwest EMS Paramedics on the Front Line
Kenora District Services Board - Special to The Bulletin
Paramedic Services Week is May 24 to May 30, and Kenora District Services Board’s Northwest Emergency Medical Services (NWEMS) is honoured to promote this year’s theme: ‘Pandemic: Paramedics on the Front Line’.
Across the District of Kenora, KDSB’s NWEMS Paramedics play an essential role within the healthcare system as first responders that make the first contact with patients during the COVID-19 Pandemic.
“Kenora District Services Board is proud of how its NWEMS staff and Paramedics have responded to and navigated the COVID-19 Pandemic as a first responder. The COVID-19 Pandemic has unequivocally proven the passion and selflessness that our paramedics encompass within their role,” said Andrew Tickner, Director and Chief of Emergency Medical Services at the Kenora District Services Board.
KDSB NWEMS wants to extend its thanks to the communities, businesses and individuals who have donated vital Personal Protection Equipment. This act of kindness ensures that Paramedics and their patients stay safe during these unprecedented times.
The practice of paramedicine provides many challenges, but also offers many reasons to celebrate. Additional information about Paramedic Services Week and this year’s theme is available on the Paramedic Chiefs of Canada’s website: https://www.paramedicchiefs.ca/paramedic-services-week-2020/.
