Moonlit Cozy Cabin
Community members were welcomed to walk, ski, kicksled, fat bike, or snowshoe down to the Cozy Cabin at the Cedar Bay lakeshore last Saturday evening from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Regularly open on Saturdays from noon to 4 p.m. from January to March, this special Moonlit Cozy Cabin evening has traditionally been held during the full moon in February.
Suzie Hughdie, Lakeshore Representative on the Friends of Cedar Bay Board, shared, “I think that this might be our fourth of fifth time doing it. It just started out between friends one day who were connected with Cedar Bay who thought it would be so cool to hang out there in the evening.”
This was the first Moonlit Cozy Cabin to take place since the start of the COVID-19 pandemic.
“It’s just a chance to come out to Cedar Bay and do something a little bit different,” Hughdie, who is also a Sioux Mountain Public School (SMPS) teacher, added.
SMPS kindergarten teacher Natalie Northway shared, “For the month of February, all the kindergarten classes are celebrating kindness and we thought we’d kick off our kindness month by making a whole bunch of baking for the community.”
The SMPS kindergarten classes baked sugar cookies, chocolate chip cookies, oatmeal raisin cookies, and blueberry muffins for the Moonlit Cozy Cabin event for visitors to enjoy.
Happy Birthday Timmy!
