Missing person located deceased

A search for a missing man near Pikangikum First Nation has ended in tragedy.

On May 19, members of the Pikangikum Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) and the Pikangikum Police Service asked for the public’s assistance to locate 49-year-old Allan King, who was last seen on May 2 in an area known as Hamburger Hill located south of Pikangikum First Nation.

On May 20 police informed that King had been located deceased and an investigation into the cause of his death was ongoing. A post mortem will be held in Kenora on a date to be determined.
