Memories & Celebrations: Obituary
Mark D.E. Young
December 22, 1971 - February 6, 2024
It is with profound sadness that the family of Mark D.E. Young announces his passing on February 6, 2024. Mark was born in Dryden, ON but was raised in Sioux Lookout, ON.
His parents were Robert & Sharon Young (Fuerst). He also had an older brother, Michael.
Mark is survived by his mother Sharon, brother Michael (Clara) Mikayla (Jersey) & Lauson.
Mark is also survived by his two children Justin Young and Kelsie Young, Mark had many Aunts and Uncles, friends, and SPECIAL friends to mourn his loss.
Mark was predeceased by his father/best friend Bob Young, children’s mother Jodie, his Aunt Donna, Uncle Larry and Grandparents Alma and Julius Fuerst.
Mark had a zest for Life. Either learning or teaching. He started and completed his education in Sioux Lookout. After Graduation he went to College and took Culinary courses. He became an excellent Chef, whipping up all kinds of dishes. And yes we had to taste them all.
Mark’s learning never ceased. He learned and flew his own plane and survived it all.
He also learned how to Scuba dive and swam in the seas and oceans of many places.
Between the sky and ocean Mark was an avid outdoors person, loving nature, trapping, hunting and fishing which was being in his happy place. Fishing took Mark to many lakes between here, B.C and Newfoundland.
His career days you could find Mark working or driving on all kinds of equipment.
For a time he had his own welding business which he worked very hard at. Mark was happy driving truck or floating machinery out of town. He inherited the hard-working skill from his dad whom he was very proud of. His last years were with Finn Way General Contracting & Perron Contracting.
Mark was motivated, ambitious, strong, bold, kind and had a great sense of humour, (even if some didn’t think so haha). What his dad didn’t teach him, Mark was a self-taught person.
You didn’t tell him he couldn’t do something he would show you he could. He craved knowledge for many things and was never afraid to try. He also built the house in which he was living in.
Mark lived a full life up to the young age of 52. He touched the lives of many people because he really did have a big HEART.
I wonder what was next on his Agenda???
From MOM - I will LOVE and miss you till I die. XO
May God bless and keep you.
