Memories & Celebrations: Obituary
Clifford Rodney Sawyer
September 24, 1939 - August 14, 2024
With profound sadness we are sharing the news of Cliff’s passing.
Cliff was everything a family man should be, he loved fiercely, he was loyal and kind, he was patient, he worked HARD and showed us what a good man, husband, brother, son, father, grandfather and friend should be. He was witty and always had little one liners for any occassion. His strength mentally and physically was undeniable. He was a wealth of knowledge and a first phone call for many people when they needed help or wisdom. He was a safe and judgement free landing for any person or animal that needed it. He was fun and spunky and full of life. He was so proud of the large, tightly woven family he created and always celebrated even the simplest milestones anyone reached. He touched so many lives in so many ways and we are all so incredibly proud of him and who he was and what he stood for.
Roma was the love of his life and his everything. Everyone that knows him and her knows their love is for eternity whether he is here or not. She is finding great comfort in seeing photos and hearing stories on how special he is or how he touched lives so please share them with her when you see her.
We would like to thank the medical staff, especially Dr John Morgan and Celine Sulkers, for making this incredibly difficult time slightly easier. Your kindness and compassion did not go unnoticed and we cannot thank you enough. Thank you to all the friends, family and members of the community that have reached out and provided support in any way.
If you knew him, even for a second, you loved him. He will be greatly missed.
A memorial will be taking place at the Sawyer residence in Alcona on October 12th at 12:00 pm.
Citing "ongoing delays with our contractors and suppliers" the Municipality of Sioux Lookout has advised that it has been forced to extend its closure of the Recreation Centre "until further notice."...
