Obituary - Marjorie Joan Anderson (Beckett)
Feb. 19, 1930 - July 31, 2020
Marjorie Joan Anderson (Beckett) passed away peacefully at home with her family beside her on July 31, 2020. Marge was born in Manitou, MB on Feb. 19, 1930 with her twin sister, Merle. Marge grew up in Manitou, where she met her future husband, Bob. They married in 1951 and she joined him and his parents in Sioux Lookout at Anderson’s Camp. She later worked with Bob at their lumberyard, A&K Builders’ Supplies.
Marge will be sadly missed by her children, Pat Vinczeffy (Dennis), Cathy Clark (Stewart) and Mark Anderson (Vicki); her grandchildren, Karen Dickson (Jake), Carla Vinczeffy-Rose (Ian), Kevin Vinczeffy (Emily); Amanda Clark (Graham); Ryan Anderson (Chantal), Joel and Lana Anderson; her great-grandchildren, Charlotte and Spencer Dickson, Matilda, Oliver and Lennon Vinczeffy-Rose. She will also be missed by her twin sister, Merle, and her many nieces and nephews and their families. Marge was pre-deceased by her husband and infant son, Johnny.
Marge was an active member of St. Mary’s Anglican Church over the years. She and Bob enjoyed curling, square dancing and playing bridge with their friends when they were younger. Marge never lost her love of playing card games with family and friends.
Marge always took a special interest in everyone she met. She would immediately know, and remember, the names of their siblings, spouses and children. All people were equal, and worthy of respect, in her eyes.
Her family was everything to her. She was so proud of her grandchildren, as she watched them grow to adulthood. Her great-grandchildren held very special places in her heart. She couldn’t wait to share stories and photos of the little ones with her friends. She will be fondly remembered for her cookies, muffins and other treats, whether they were delivered in town or by care package through the mail.
Many thanks are extended to Dr. Jon Morgan for his care and kindness. Thank you also to Dr. Alana Morgan and Glendene Schardt for their compassion.
In accordance with Marge’s wishes, a family graveside service has taken place. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Mary’s Anglican Church or a charity of your choice are very much appreciated.
