Denied service
I was denied a temporary license plate sticker at Sioux Lookout Service Ontario office for no clear reason.
Service Ontario I thought was to help give us in the community the service we need BUT on May 3, 2024, at around 2:00 p.m., I went there with my Temporary Insurance with my vehicle ownership card. I went to ask for a Temporary License Plate Sticker to be able to take my car to the shop of my preference to get Safety so I can start to use my car but the staff at Service Ontario at Sioux Lookout Office denied me the service telling me that my Car was unfit because it had no safety.
I tried to explain to the staff that that’s what I need the 10 Day Temporary License Plate Sticker for, to be able to take the car to get safety. The staff seemed not well informed about the Temporary License Plate Sticker. However much I tried explaining to them how it always worked, they did not agree with me, and they insisted that in order for me to get a 10 Day Temporary License Plate Sticker that I need to get a safety for the car first. And they suggested to me that I should find a tow truck and tow my car to the mechanic where it has to get safety.
This is misinformation by the Service Ontario staff at the Sioux Lookout office. I wonder how many people are being denied service, yet they have the right to have the service. I do not work for the Government and I struggle to make a Living, and in this case I had asked time off my workplace to be able to get time to get my car safety, I had made an appointment with the shop where the car was to be taken for the safety, I had even gone to my insurance agent and had obtained the Temporary Insurance for the purpose which insurance I showed to the Service Ontario staff but all in vein they refused. I don’t think they valued my time and denying me a service I am entitled to in this community. I know it’s government and we are small people so they also know that we can do nothing after their denial.

One day last week was a great one for a walk - overcast, cool, snowy and brutal for a spring day - but a beauty for a little hike...
