Holly Jolly Festival draws a crowd with Christmas cheer

Sioux North High School teacher Shawn Hordy is thanking the community for making this year’s Holly Jolly Festival at Sioux North High School the best one yet.
The event included photos with Santa, an indoor yard/bake/craft sale featuring 30 vendors from the community, the 3rd Annual Festival of Trees decorated and submitted by 24 local businesses and organizations, kids crafts and snacks, and hot chocolate served by members of the Sioux Lookout Bombers hockey team.
“It has been steady since 11 o’clock when we started this morning, which is a great thing, it means the community is coming out to support,” Hordy said.
Organized by the school’s Prom Committee, proceeds raised at the event will support the 2024/2025 Prom.
Hordy, teacher liaison to the Prom Committee, added, “Happy to see the community come out to support, happy to see so many local businesses and organizations support and just the feeling you want at Christmastime… Thank you to the community. I’m glad they’re happy that we put this on.”
