Sioux Lookout businesses react to smoking ban ruling
Representatives from Sioux Lookout’s business community feel Northwestern Health Unit Chief Medical Officer of Health Dr. Pete Sarsfield was wrong to try to enforce a smoking ban on businesses within the jurisdiction of the Health Unit.

Outstanding community support sends QEDHS basketball team to OFSAA
Outstanding, fantastic, wonderful and excellent were all words used by Queen Elizabeth District High School senior boys basketball coach Mike Lalonde to describe community support for his team. On Sunday, Mar. 7, a dinner and auction was held in the QEDHS gymnasium to raise funds for the senior boys basketball trip to OFSAA, the provincial championship, to be held in Windsor Mar. 10-12.

Details are still being worked on by municipal staff and some councilors in order to balance this year’s Sioux Lookout budget.

Birds of a feather flock together
That was certainly true at this bird feeder located outside a home on Queen Street Sunday afternoon. The birds seemed to be enjoying the warmer weather as they pecked away at their meals, an indication that spring is not far off.
