Sioux Lookout solicits support for new centre
The Government of Ontario announced a new initiative called Super Build in December, and Sioux Lookout is looking to get on board. Letters requesting support for a multi-use cultural/heritage/interpretive centre were sent to local businesses and organizations at the beginning of February.

Teachers, elementary students buckle down
The strike is over and everyone is back to daily routines in elementary schools throughout the Kenora-Patricia school district. About 50 hours classroom time was lost during the strike that lasted from Jan. 11-24 and now some of it must be made up.

The Independent First Nations Alliance Physician Services celebrated its grand opening on Feb. 13 at the Zone Hospital. The main focus is to provide proper health services to First Nations people.
