Students protest as teacher dispute heats up
The Ontario teacher dispute continues, and some Queen Elizabeth District High School students are registering their unhappiness with the situation. All Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF) bargaining unit members withdrew from volunteer activities last week, causing the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board to suspend all extracurricular activities for its secondary school students.

Shibogama chiefs green light two projects to address prescription drug abuse
Shibogama First Nations Council is launching two new projects to address the prescription drug abuse issue facing the five northern communities of Kasabonika, Kingfisher Lake, Wapekeka, Wawakapewin, and Wunnumin Lake. The announcement came last week at the Shibogama Chiefs Meeting held at the Forest Inn and Conference Centre.
