Fast hands, creative stitches: Speed Knitting and Crochet Contest
Angela Anderson - Staff Writer
Competitors and spectators visited Drayton Cash and Carry on August 13 for a speed knitting/crochet contest.
Dorothy Broderick, Drayton Cash and Carry owner, said of the event, “The speed knitting/crochet contest was fun!” Broderick commented that she was glad to see so many different age groups come out to test their skills.
The fastest level 1 crafter was Nya Ketchabaw and fastest level 2 was Kristen Barrett.
“We combined craft categories this year as some were competing against themselves. This gave them some competitors to go up against. Some narrow wins this year. Glad to see some visitors from out- of- town join in as well.”
Broderick concluded, “They all did well. Thank you to everyone who attended as competitors and spectators and to Blueberry Bert for coming and trying to crochet!”
