Fall Family Day
Camp of the Woods Ministries Inc. hosted their Fall Family Day last Saturday, inviting people from the surrounding area to visit them for a day of fun.
Food, carnival games, hayrides, archery, canoeing, bouncy castles, and live music by Opened Faith
were just some of the activities going on at the free event. Even a few local vendors attended with their wares.
Camp Director Johnnie Bates said it was a great day, “We have a lot of people show up. We had the most probably that we’ve ever had this year. Great to have Opened Faith playing music for us. Had some vendors in this weekend, so really great.”
Bates said, “It’s been a great season here at Camp of the Woods. Lots to be thankful for.”
He shared, “Summer programming went really well. We had lots of kids from the Dryden and Sioux Lookout and surrounding area. We ran five weeks and we averaged about 60 kids a week. We had two teen weeks and a couple of junior weeks and everybody had a great time. It was really good.”
Camp of the Woods Ministries Inc is planning winter camps as well as a winter family day in between Christmas and New Years.
