This past Friday Pelican High Peak Youth Healing Lodge held an End of Summer Barbeque, at their location at 70 Wellington Street.
There were many prizes and back to school gifts at the free BBQ. A steady stream of people attended the event, even getting tours of the facility.
Acting Treatment Services Manager Jonathan King shared, “I believe today went fantastic. We have opened up our facilities to the community and everyone has enjoyed a lot of food and just a good time hanging out.”
King commented of the event, “Just making folks aware of what we do here. We have done it (community BBQ’s) a number of times and right now we don’t have any clients in treatment and so we kind of like to do some community events to invite people in.”
King concluded, “We have games night and things like that, this is the second time for our End of Summer Barbeque.”
