Dog sled rides
Sioux Lookout mushers Jesse Terry and Mary England, along with members of their family and their handling team, were at the Cedar Bay lakeshore on March 18 providing dog sled rides during this year’s Sioux Mountain Winter Festival.
“It’ been pretty much non-stop since we got here. There’s been people lining up, lots of families getting out, I think a lot of people got their first dog sledding experience today and that’s something I’m really happy about,” Terry shared.
He said it was great to share his family’s passion for the sport, “I feel like we spend so much time with the dogs and we’re really passionate about the time we spend with our dogs, and sharing that with others is just something really special to do at the end of the season.”
Money raised from the dog sled rides is being donated to Sioux Mountain Public School’s Grade 7/8 Toronto trip.
“It’s been a success for sure,” Terry said of the event. “The weather’s been great, lots of smiles.”
