The long weekend and opening of fishing season have brought us a bonanza at camp.
Weather has been beautiful, sunny and warm. Dandelions are shooting up all over the yard and some butterflies and bumblebees are showing up and hanging around to enjoy the cheer as much as we are.
We have caught a few walleyes. They taste good all summer, but the sweetest are always the first of the season.
I caught a white fish yesterday that joined a nice pork roast in the smoker. Roast 10 hours, white fish 3 hours. Should do that more often.
As we end the day on our deck, looking across the lake, watching another gorgeous sundown, I reflect on our good fortune to have such a pleasant place to hang out, the beautiful little town where we live, and our many wonderful friends.
