Some special summer moments

Butterflies are all around. Even the first Monarch I've seen this year joined White Admirals and Tiger Swallowtails, along with several other smaller species, to welcome us back to camp.
The White Admiral shown here landed on my belly, whispered in my ear, "You look like a piece of sunshine on a cloudy day... tell me about your Rotary shirt."
Later on Mary and I were thrilled to watch a cow moose and her shakey little calf slip out of the forest shadows and step into the lake, just down the shoreline from us, as we sat at our lakeside bar. The two drank the magic water of Pelican Lake and recycled it for us before disappearing a few minutes later silently back into the trees.
