Dick’s Hideaway:
A nice fall, well enjoyed

Whoosh... the leaves are nearly gone.
Actually they aren't all gone yet, but should be by end of the day. When we arrived at camp they were blasting through the air like a snow blizzard in December. The wind should howl louder today than it did Friday.
Most of our waterfowl have headed south, I think. I spotted our young loon yesterday, but no adults. Assume it's the baby we've watched most of the summer. Others have also reported seeing young, unaccompanied loons this week. Must be the parents' final life lesson for this year's youngsters.
Looks like we're down to the last few weeks at camp until around Christmas. Hate to see summer and fall coming to an end, but soon enough we’ll be playing in the cold and snow, and looking forward to longer days of sunlight, warmer temperatures, and the arrival of spring again.
