Dance!
Lookout Dance Company dancers, and even the instructors, performed in Boogie Shoes, the dance company’s Year-End Dance Recital on May 21 at the Sioux North High School cafetorium.
Dance numbers included: “In the SummerTime” performed by Ballet Level 2 dancers, “Tiny Dancer” performed by Ballet Level 1 dancers, “Rockin’ Robin” performed by Creative Combo dancers, “Hound Dog” performed by Tap/Jazz Level 1 dancers, “Berth” a dance duet performed by Lookout Dance Company Instructors Arianna Kitching and Saskia Snyder-Penner, and “Boogie Shoes” performed by the Competitive Team.
The recital concluded with the presentation of certificates to dancers.
Earlier this spring (March 8-10) the Competitive Team performed “Boogie Shoes” at the Phoenix Dance Competition in Winnipeg, receiving a first place standing with an elite gold score (average of 85.4/100 points) in the Novice Junior Jazz Small Group. “Berth” received a first place standing with a diamond score (average of 92/100 points) in the Adult Student Choreography Contemporary Duet category.
Now in its second year as a dance company, Lookout Dance expanded its programing this season to include tap.
