Sioux Lookout Fire Chief/Emergency Services Manager Jeremy Funk is thanking community members for their generosity and support of the Firefighter’s Boot Drive for Muscular Dystrophy Canada this past Saturday.
“This past Saturday morning between 10 a.m. and noon members of the Sioux Lookout Fire Fighters Association set up two collection sites around town and were able to collect just over $4180. There were a few more donations that came in later in the day and again the Association voted to “bump up” the overall donation to an even $4500 tying last year for our highest annual contribution to date,” Funk shared.
“Participating in the Muscular Dystrophy Canada and Canadian Fire Service Boot Drive since 1991, the Sioux Lookout donations to date are $93,900,” Funk added.
“I would like to thank everyone who came through and supported the boot drive, those who made contributions later in the day and the Sioux Lookout Fire Fighters who gave up their Saturday morning to collect the donations. Our contact at MDC was very appreciative when I called to report our donation total. Great job Sioux Lookout and again, thank you to everyone who contributed in any way,” Funk concluded.
