Competitive showing from the Sioux Lookout Squash Club
Three members of the Sioux Lookout Squash Club travelled to Fort Frances from February 6–8, 2026, to compete in the 38th Annual Sunset Country Squash Tournament. The competition was intense, with several closely contested matches that could have gone either way.
Gerson Agustin competed in the A Division and earned an impressive 4th-place finish overall. Jason Murphy finished 5th overall in the B Division, while Jason Spooner secured 3rd place in the C Division. For both Jasons, this marked their first tournament appearance, making their performances especially noteworthy. Each match showcased determination, skill, and steady growth, with highly competitive rallies that kept spectators engaged throughout the weekend.
The Sioux Lookout Squash Club continues to build momentum, demonstrating that its athletes can compete with strong clubs across the region, including those in Winnipeg and Thunder Bay.
Next up, the Sioux Lookout Squash Club will travel to Thunder Bay to compete in the Silver Fox Squash Tournament from April 17–19, 2026, as they look to build on this recent success.
