Celebrating diversity
June has been proclaimed Gay Pride Celebration Month in the Municipality of Sioux Lookout.
During a ceremony at the Municipal Office on June 5 where the Pride Flag was raised for the month, Councillor Joyce Timpson read a proclamation from Sioux Lookout Mayor Doug Lawrance, declaring that, “Sioux Lookout has a long and proud tradition of embracing diversity in all its forms” and encouraging “all residents regardless of sexual orientation, to celebrate together in recognition of the rainbow of diversity with which our 2SLGBTQ+ community contributes to Sioux Lookout.”
