Another step closer
Members of the Hudson Fire Team Association donated $10,000 to the Sioux Lookout Meno Ya Win Health Centre (SLMHC) Foundation’s MRI Campaign on July 10, helping bring an MRI unit at the hospital another step closer to becoming a reality.
The Hudson Fire Team Association raised funds for the Hudson Fire Department prior to annexation in 1998.
Association member Cathy Kiepek said of supporting the MRI Campaign, “We thought that was really fitting. We’d been raising money for a fire department and a first response team to help out the community, and what better way to use the money that we had raised back then.”
Melissa Slade, SLMHC Foundation Donor Relations/Operations Coordinator shared, “This donation is a shining example of community coming together. The group raised the money quite some time ago to support their own needs but have decided to formally disband. They have acknowledged that they felt it fitting to donate their remaining funds to our campaign – We are so grateful for their generosity! It is through community support like this and working together that we continue building positive momentum toward reaching our goal.”
