Representatives from First Step Women’s Shelter and the Sioux Lookout OPP were at Red Apple, Giant Tiger and Fresh Market Foods this past Saturday conducting the 16th annual Stuff A Cruiser initiative.
Sergeant Jean Duguay of the Sioux Lookout OPP and Laura Duguay, Transitional Worker at First Step Women’s Shelter, are the coordinators of the event. The husband and wife duo said they are always amazed at people’s generosity.
New, unwrapped toys, non-perishable foot items, and monetary donations are collected through the Stuff A Cruiser Initiative to help families in our community have a great Christmas through the First Step Women’s Shelter’s Community Christmas Program.
Laura Duguay added there is still an opportunity to support the First Step Women’s Shelter’s Adopt-A-Family Program as well. People can find out more about that program, support by the FSWS’s Community Christmas Program, by contacting Laura at 807-737-1438 or emailing laurad@fsws.ca.
Anyone who may have missed the event last Saturday can still drop off donations at the Sioux Lookout OPP Detachment or at First Step Women’s Shelter.
